Homage To Expo 67, Montreal…

Here is a selection of my ‘Homage To Expo 67’ work. Montreal in Quebec, Canada is one of my favourite cities. It has an interesting history especially the Expo 67 World fair, held in 1967, many say that this was one of the most succesful World fairs ever. The remnants of the Expo are still here today. Most prominantly, the Biosphere which was the US pavillion, its dome was a Buckminster Fuller geodesic dome. Secondly, Habitat 67 apartment block designed by Moshe Safdie is another important leftover from the Expo. Today to buy an apartment there it will cost a lot and there is also a waiting list! With these artworks, I wanted to use my ‘tradigital’ technique and also try to convey a retro vintage feel with a nostalgia to the optimism that still is an echo in Montreal today.

Available as A3 prints and postcards.

I have been really pleased with the reception that these images have received so far, I have a few shops that want to buy some of the prints and postcards already. This is great considering that I made these prints using open source tools Blender and Krita. The makers of Krita also interviewed me about the process. I documented the process of this work in a youtube video, you can learn how to use similar techniques from this video.

Also, check out this video below where I talk about the process, technique and inspiration for this work-
